PE100+ Association Road Show in IndiaFirst PE100+ Association Road Show in India
The national event took place at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai on 28th July, 2006. Honorable Minister for Water Resources, Government of Maharashtra, Shri Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar inaugurated the seminar and delivered the opening address. The Keynote speaker was Mr. Ulrich Schulte, Vice President * Marketing of the PE100+ Association. Eight papers were given, which covered developments in HDPE pipe technology, Industry status and outlook in India, case studies for Water and Gas distribution and relining of old pipelines. It also addressed the current level of Indian standards and test facilities available and the need to align with International standards. The conference was attended by end-users like municipal corporations, gas companies, administrators, leading pipe converters and project consultants. As one example out of many we received the statement from Mr. A. R. Parasuraman, chairman of Genesis Nutech Pvt. Ltd "On the outset I should congratulate you all for your efforts in arranging such a good seminar. The seminar was good and meaningful, conveyed the message, and should yield the results from the required corners. I would like to add that efforts in creating the awareness of PE100 -which stands for quality, confidence, safety and gains- should be continued with active participation of both pipe raw material suppliers and converters. "The penetration of PE pipe systems in India is below the full potential level due to lacking confidence in PE materials. This is because India uses today predominantly lower quality natural PE materials, instead of high quality PE100 compounds, for water distribution pipe networks During this seminar, we addressed solutions to the Indian industry to move forward to cost effective PE pipe networks, and we remain optimistic seeing more Indian projects realized with high quality PE100 compounds" commented Didier Nozahic, Marketing Manager Pipe, Borouge. |
